The day began with sunrise over the camp site.
Yes, we were ‘camping’ with other campervans and caravans, on the beachfront overlooking the boardwalk. Fascinating people watching. A quick walk along the beach, then we were off to meet Cat. Parked up in Tauranga, took the bikes to do a little food shopping, then she and I went off to a bridal shop to try on dresses.
And there will be absolutely no pictures here...although I
took about 100 of her so that she could linger over them and decide later.
So then, it was going over the spreadsheet...the tasks, the
people responsible, the budget... not for nothing is she an experienced and
superbly trained event organiser. In
just two weeks since getting engaged, she has managed to organise most of the
wedding.
And, of course, it is complicated by the fact that the
wedding will be here in New Zealand, up in Houhora near the family bach. So we have had to sort out accommodation for
our family and even for other overseas guests – not an easy task when the
wedding is at the height of the holiday season. But Cat – with Andy’s sister
Bex doing a huge amount of research, too – has been amazing and has managed to
book it already.
Then a sunset walk along the beach...
