Dog and Fog

Not really panicking. Shouldn't have panicked when we saw that fog had closed down air traffic in and out of Guernsey on changeover day for the dog at home.

We did, though, just a little bit, at the thought of the poor little thing home alone for too many hours, waiting for the next friends to arrive.

So we sent off a quick email to two friends from our home group, asking them to phone the house just to see if our guests had arrived OK.

This is what we said:  #shouldn'thaveworried.

"Hi Tess and Karyn

Really sorry to bother you, but...we've just seen that there is fog in Guernsey (keeping an eye on the weather - rain here!!) and this is changeover day for Pickle. My friend Ann and her sisters are supposed to be arriving from Manchester by 10.30 but that obviously won't happen then.

If Ann is delayed only a couple of hours, then there is no problem, but we wondered, if you don't mind, if you could just keep an eye on arrivals in Guernsey and maybe ring the house at about 2 or 3pm to see if they have got in all right? Pickle will be fine on her own until then - Martin and Amanda fly out to Bristol at 11.15 so will be leaving the house some time before 10am. If Ann can't get in today for any reason, I hope she will contact one of you.

I hope you won't need to go to any trouble - the forecast suggests that the fog will lift before too long, but there will be knock on effect at the airport of course. Just wanted to give a heads up just in case the fog decides to hang around all day, in which case Pickle might have her legs crossed by the afternoon!!

Otherwise, all fine..."

Look at the answers we got back:

Have a good time - I am almost on holiday! yay! Am reading blogs!

Lots of love,

"Hi Angie and Karyn,

I've had a phone call from your friend Angie, they are stuck at Manchester but I told her not to worry as I can keep an eye on flight arrivals and go and let Pickle out if necessary.  Then I saw these emails, so Karyn if you're ok to go at lunchtime that sounds great - do let me know if there is anything I can do.  I'm assuming there is a set of keys still in the secret place that you showed me Angie?!!

Glad everything is going well Angie,  am reading blogs too!

love Tess xx

Pickle got out for a wee and a play and gave her a couple of treats. She also had water. :-)
